2020 has been a great year for the Home Inspection industry here in Alaska.
I was up in Utqiagvik (Barrow) this year doing Home Inspections and AHFC Energy Audits.
Utqiagvik (Barrow) is a great town with its own natural gas field for heating and electricity. It is the northern most city in America and a settlement that has been populated for a few thousand years with amazing people.
While I was there the towns folks landed their first whale of the season which made everyone completely happy. Yum, whale meat. Probably an acquired taste over the past several thousand years of living in the arctic. No, they wouldn’t let me go out the ten miles on the ocean ice to see the whale. Figured a polar bear would eat me or I’d get lost on the ice.
2020 is now over. For my work and family it has been a great year. But, it has been challenging as we all know, navigating through and around the Covid. I hope to never again see Ted Stevens airport look like this during the daytime rush hour. Nice to have the place to myself. But I’d rather be shoulder to shoulder in the airport like I was taught.
The good was great. The bad will end in 2021. That would be the best New Years resolution.
